A wanted 41-year-old male was located and detained in North Stafford after a bit of a manhunt.

On July 10th, at approximately 10:22 a.m., deputies responded to the Country Wood Estates Subdivision for a wanted suspect being found. A deputy with the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office observed Christopher Stanley in the area. Stanley was wanted out of Culpeper for extortion, using threatening messages, and contempt of court. Shortly after noticing the Fauquier deputy, Stanley took off on foot.

Stafford deputies quickly established a perimeter and began searching utilizing both K-9 and drones. Unfortunately, Stanley could not be located. At approximately 5:08 p.m., an observant citizen noticed a suspicious person on Equestrian Lane. Considering the suspicious person matched the description of Stanley, deputies quickly flooded the area. With the assistance of the Blue Ridge Task Force Fugitive Unit, Stanley was detained. He was found to be in possession of controlled substances.

Stanley was served on his outstanding warrants and additionally charged with possession of controlled substances. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $4,000 secured bond.

Thank you to everyone who provided tips and helped locate this wanted suspect.
