A Fredericksburg man that missed his turn to McDonald’s was turned right around to Rappahannock Regional Jail after another DUI offense.

On April 2nd at approximately 7:44 p.m. Deputy M.A. Holub responded to Chatham Heights Road for a drunk driver complaint. It was advised the driver of a F-150 appeared to miss a turn in the area of the McDonald’s and was now “in a weird location.” It was further advised the driver was slumped over inside the vehicle.

Deputy Holub arrived and made contact with the driver. The driver was identified as David Shoun, 34. Shoun had signs of intoxication and admitted to having a suspended license due to a previous DUI. As their conversation progressed, it was discovered Shoun’s DUI occurred in 2019 and he would admit to snorting illicit substances. When the topic changed to field sobriety tests, Shoun declared “I’m screwed.”

Shoun was charged with driving under the influence second offense within five to ten years, second offense refusal, and driving with a suspended license. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.

Drive sober or get pulled over.
