Two neighbors received a late-night wake up call after a Toyota came knocking on their doors.
On March 28th just before 10:00 p.m. Deputy P.J. Leon responded to the 1000 block of Ramoth Church Road for an auto accident. It was advised a Toyota struck an unoccupied truck with so much force it struck a neighbor’s house.
When Deputy Leon arrived, he made contact with the suspect driver. The 29-year-old had apparent injuries and apparent signs of intoxication. He was quickly transported to a local hospital as Deputy Leon investigated the crash scene. He discovered the Toyota was traveling Westbound at a high rate of speed when it exited the roadway. The Toyota would crash into a parked pick-up with enough force to push it approximately 175 feet. The vehicles would only come to a stop after striking a neighboring house. Luckily, no one within the home was injured.
Within the totaled Toyota, Deputy Leon located numerous bottles of alcohol that were purchased earlier that day. It was also discovered the driver had no license and no insurance. Charges for driving under the influence, driving without a license, driving without insurance, and reckless driving were obtained and served at the hospital.
We encourage all drivers to plan ahead and plan to drive sober. |
