When wanted out of three jurisdictions, your best bet isn’t to try and hide in Stafford. A 46-year-old Colonial Beach man learned this fact yesterday.
On March 27th at approximately 11:09 a.m. deputies with the Street Crimes Unit, formerly known as the Special Problems Unit, were attempting to locate Allen Weathers. Weathers was wanted out of Stafford, Spotsylvania, and King George for numerous felony probation violations. The Street Crimes Unit had information that Weathers was in the area and operating a not-so conspicuous bright red Chevy Blazer. While he might have been able to avoid being stopped, he would not blaze through Stafford as easily.
Deputies located the suspect vehicle in the 800 block of Kellogg Mill Road and confirmed Weathers was the driver. When the vehicle turned onto the driveway of a residence in the area, deputies boxed the vehicle in. Weathers would exit the vehicle and attempt to make a get away to a nearby wooded area. Despite the call of the wild, Weathers would not make it and deputies were able to detain him.
On his person, and in the vehicle in plain view, deputies located suspected controlled substances. Weathers was served on his outstanding warrants while charges related to the suspected controlled substances are pending. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
Great work to the Street Crimes Unit for locating yet another wanted suspect attempting to hide in Stafford. |
