A juvenile under the influence was found behind the wheel with unlawful items while attempting to get his Happy Meal.

On March 26th at approximately 11:02 p.m. Deputy D.A. Robertson responded to the area of Richmond Highway and Garrisonville Road for a drunk driver complaint. The caller advised the driver of a truck appeared to be half asleep behind the wheel. What further drew their attention was the driver put the truck in reverse at the Stafford Market Place intersection before continuing onto Richmond Highway.

While responding, Deputy Robertson observed a truck that matched the description provided in the drive-thru line of McDonald’s, located at 303 Town Center Boulevard. While it’s never too late for some crispy fries, the driver fried his chances of obtaining some when he struck the vehicle in front of him in the drive-thru line. Deputy Robertson made contact with the suspect driver, a juvenile, who was less than cooperative as he displayed signs of intoxication. The driver was detained and searched. During a search of his person, Deputy Robertson located not only a hodgepodge of different marijuana products, but a realistic Glock style BB gun.

The juvenile received criminal complaints for driving under the influence, driving without a license, underage possession of marijuana, and underage consumption of alcohol. Juvenile Intake declined to detain the juvenile, so he was released to his parents.
