A 56-year-old Stafford man would claim responsibility for an auto accident resulting in his second DUI offense.
On March 22nd, at approximately 6:35 p.m., Sergeant S.C. Jett responded to the intersection of Staffordboro Boulevard and Stafford Market Place for an auto accident. It was advised a BMW and Chevy had a collision at the intersection. It was further advised that the BMW driver appeared intoxicated.
Sergeant Jett would discover the Chevy was traveling Northbound on Staffordboro Boulevard when the BMW turned left from the commuter lot, causing the accident. The BMW driver was identified as Tommy Anderson Jr. Anderson had extremely noticeable signs of intoxication, including glassy, bloodshot eyes and heavily slurred speech. While his signs of intoxication made it difficult at times to understand what he said, Anderson would advise “it’s my fault” multiple times throughout the investigation. He would further admit to having something to drink “three minutes ago.”
Anderson was discovered to have a prior DUI back in 2020. He was charged with driving under the influence second offense within five years with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2, reckless driving, and failure to obey a traffic light. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond. |
