A 32-year-old Stafford woman earned her third DUI in a year the day after earning her second DUI.

On March 19th at approximately 1:49 p.m. Deputy A.E. Epps responded to a reckless driver complaint on White Oak Road. The caller advised a Ford was having a difficult time staying in its lane and the driver appeared under the influence. The caller further advised the suspect vehicle pulled into the Walgreens, located at 50 White Oak Road, making it easy for Deputy Epps to locate.

Deputy Epps made contact with the driver, who appeared extremely disoriented and had the overwhelming odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. Due to the apparent signs of intoxication, Deputy Epps requested the driver to participate in field sobriety tests. Instead, the driver immediately put her hands behind her back as if she was being arrested.

The driver was identified as Leah Hicks. During the DUI investigation, it was discovered Hicks had been convicted of DUI in February in which an interlock was ordered to be installed. No interlock was located. It was also discovered Hicks was arrested for DUI the day prior in Prince William County. She was charged with driving under the influence third offense within five years, driving without an interlock system, and driving without a license. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Drive sober or get pulled over.
