A 35-year-old Stafford man caused an auto accident over the weekend while intoxicated with a child present.
On March 1st at approximately 12:47 p.m. Deputy A.G. Hart responded to the area of Warrenton Road and Northbound I-95 for an auto accident. A Honda had rear ended a Volkswagen, totaling both vehicles. Luckily, only minor injuries were reported.
It was discovered the driver of the Volkswagen had stopped at the red light when the driver of the Honda slammed into them. Deputy Hart would make contact with the at fault driver, identified as Joseph Hall Jr. Hall would have signs of intoxication including the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person and pinpoint pupils. Hall, who was driving a juvenile family member, admitted to drinking a 40 Oz beer prior to getting behind the wheel. It was also discovered this was not his first DUI offense and he had a revoked license.
Hall was charged with driving under the influence second offense within five years with a blood alcohol content above .2 with a child present, driving with a revoked license, child neglect, following too closely, and having an expired registration. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. |
