Three individuals were arrested for assault after drastically exacerbating a verbal disagreement in Olde Forge.
On February 26th at approximately 7:12 p.m. Deputy C.R. Newman and Deputy C.M. Sterne responded to Olde Forge Drive for a disturbance. Dispatch received two different calls regarding the same location and things had gotten “kind of physical.” When deputies arrived, they discovered an assault had taken place, but there were two different accounts as to what happened.
The female involved advised she was in a verbal argument with her boyfriend. The altercation changed when she alleged her now ex-boyfriend attempted to pull her into his vehicle. Despite this, she had no signs of an assault and had inconsistencies with her story.
The male involved had more of a narrative to offer. He advised a verbal argument broke out between him and his girlfriend. The altercation changed when he alleged his now ex-girlfriend became aggressive and assaulted him. The male attempted to separate himself when the female refused to exit his vehicle. While trying to have her exit his vehicle, two of the female’s brothers approached him in an aggressive manner. The brothers would assault the male before he was able to get away. Unfortunately when he returned, multiple personal items were taken from his vehicle, including the keys to his Dodge Charger. The male had minor injuries.
Deputy Sterne was able to make contact with a neutral witness who was able to reinforce the male’s claims. Due to the injuries and witness statement, it was discovered the female and her two brothers were the predominant aggressors. The female was charged with assault and battery. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond. Both brothers were charged with assault and battery, assault by mob, grand larceny, and tampering with a vehicle. They both were held without bond. |
