2149 Richmond Highway, 1:23 a.m.

Deputy K.F. Bierfeldt was in the right place at the right time to capture a breaking and entering suspect in the act this morning.

On February 24th at 1:23 a.m. Deputy Bierfeldt was in the area of the Crystal Smoke and Vape shop when a glass break alarm was activated. As she approached the business, she observed the glass in the front door was completely shattered. Suddenly, like a whack-a-mole game, a head appeared peeking out from inside the business to the parking lot.

The suspect made eye contact with Deputy Bierfeldt and darted into the woods behind the business. Deputy Bierfeldt gave chase as the suspect ran through the underbrush. We can only assume the suspect didn’t get the memo that the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is 2-0 in pursuits this weekend. Only a short distance into the woods, the suspect fell and he was arrested. The Sheriff’s Office record moved to 3-0 for the weekend.

Deputy Bierfeldt identified the suspect as a 16-year-old male and contacted his mother. Deputy S.A. Edwards also responded to the scene since he was investigating a February 22nd breaking and entering at the Holy Pipe Tobacco Shop across the street. You will probably not be shocked to learn this juvenile suspect was also linked to the Holy Pipe Tobacco Shop crime as well.

Juvenile Intake declined to detain the suspect and charges for the two breaking and entering cases are pending.

Excellent work by Deputy Bierfeldt to capture this suspect and solve two breaking and entering cases!
