A party crasher was located under the influence behind the wheel after leaving a rather important clue behind during a disturbance.
On February 17th at approximately 12:50 p.m. Deputy A.J. Charoenthep responded to the Days Inn Motel, located at 14 Simpson Road, for a disturbance. It was advised someone was banging on the door of one of the motel rooms. When Deputy Charoenthep arrived, he discovered a window had been shattered.
Deputy Charoenthep made contact with the occupants of the room who advised they were celebrating a birthday. During the mini-room party, someone began aggressively knocking on the door. Things escalated when the window shattered moments later. Using business cameras, it was discovered a male wearing light jeans and a dark jacket kicked the window, breaking it. Luckily, during the assault on the glass, the suspect dropped a cell phone.
Using the phone conveniently left behind, Deputy Charoenthep was able to identify the suspect. Deputy C.A. Osborne was able to locate the suspect behind the wheel in the area of the Exxon, located at 375 Warrenton Road, and made contact with him. The 31-year-old was wearing clothes identical to the window assaulter in the video and had injuries consistent with glass. He would also have signs of being under the influence.
Due to his level of intoxication and injuries, the suspect was transported to a nearby hospital where he was issued a releasable warrant for driving under the influence. Charges related to the destruction of the window are pending. During the investigation, one of the party goers was discovered to be wanted out of both Stafford and Fredericksburg. He was served on his outstanding warrants and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 secured bond. |
