An observant deputy patrolling North Stafford found a wanted suspect and suspected controlled substances after witnessing a minor disturbance.
On February 16th at approximately 6:11 p.m. Deputy X.D. Bates was in the area of the Super 8 Motel, located at 25 Wicomico Drive, for a proactive patrol. While there, he observed the female passenger of a Ford violently shaking the male driver. Out of concern this could be an overdose, Deputy Bates attempted to make contact.
Luckily, it was a false alarm and the male was just a “heavy sleeper” according to the female. During their casual conversation, the female would provide a false identification. Deputy Bates would not buy the lie and eventually the female would come clean and identify herself as Kalila Prochno, 31, of Centreville. Prochno knew she had outstanding warrants and advised that is why she lied. When her warrants for possession of controlled substances and a capias were confirmed, she was detained.
The male, identified as Jason Haller, 49, of Gainesville, provided consent for his vehicle to be searched. During the search, suspected controlled substances were located. Additional suspected controlled substances were located on Haller’s person.
Prochno was charged with possession of controlled substances, unlawful name change, identity fraud, and providing a false identification to law enforcement. She was additionally served on her outstanding warrants. Haller was charged with possession of controlled substances. Both were held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. |
