A 27-year-old Spotsylvania man was arrested early this morning after proceeding straight through a T-intersection, going off-road and traveling for more yardage than the Kansas City Chiefs rushed for during last weekend’s Super Bowl.
On February 13th at 3:15 a.m. Deputy C.R. Newman responded to an auto accident on Woodford Drive. The accident actually started at the intersection of Primmer House Road and Leeland Road.. The driver was eastbound on Primmer House Road when he failed to turn in either direction onto Leeland Road and instead went down an embankment to the backyard of a residence. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the accident.
Deputy Newman identified the driver as John Woodyard and things continued to go downhill when suspected controlled substances were located in a folded $20 bill in Woodyard’s pocket. Deputy Newman determined Woodyard was not driving impaired and charged him with possession of a controlled substance and reckless driving. Woodyard was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,000 bond. |
