Wednesday night’s bible study was mistaken as a “human trafficking operation” by an intoxicated male who took it upon himself to forcefully investigate the matter.
On February 5th at approximately 7:35 p.m. deputies responded to Renee Road for a disturbance that was quickly escalating. The caller advised he was upset his neighbors double parked. Instead of bringing up the matter with property management, the caller confronted his neighbors in their residence and observed a large number of people. He would assume this to be a “human trafficking operation” and wanted deputies to investigate it. While reporting the incident, dispatches could hear the caller taunting and cursing at the neighbors.
Deputies quickly arrived on scene where they made contact with the caller, who was in the middle of the roadway. The caller, identified as David Campbell, 48, of Stafford, had signs of intoxication as he complained about the parking situation and demanded deputies to “identify everyone” within the residence. After conversing with Campbell deputies made contact with the neighbors in question, who had a much different account on what occurred.
The neighbors advised Wednesday night was bible study night and that is why there was a large amount of people in the residence. While conversing about the gospel, the neighbors advised Campbell forced his way into the residence to confront them. He would nearly strike an ordained minister and threaten to punch another male. Video evidence would confirm this.
Campbell was charged with breaking and entering, assault, and public intoxication. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. |
