A warrant service for one individual escalated into three being held without bond after they attempted to flee law enforcement.

On February 4th at approximately 9:02 p.m. Deputy R.W. Stamm, Deputy W.E. Trainor, and Deputy C.T. Richardson responded to Olympic Drive for a warrant service. Rehela Lacatus, 31, of Stafford, had several outstanding identity fraud related warrants, including several felony offenses. Deputy Stamm and Deputy Trainor attempted to make contact at the front door as Deputy Richardson maintained a visual of the backyard. A move that would later pay off.

Deputies at the front door were able to see into the residence and observed the wanted suspect. When deputies announced themselves and why they were there, Deputy Richardson observed several individuals starting to make a hasty retreat towards the rear of the residence, including Lacatus. As this occurred, a female would converse with deputies at the front door and refuse to comply with commands. As she obstructed the investigation, Deputy Richardson observed three individuals come flying out of the back of the residence and attempt to run towards the wood line.

Deputy Richardson would stop the trio from escaping any further and with the help of Deputy Stamm and Deputy Trainor, they were detained. The three were identified as a 26-year-old female, 28-year-old male, and the wanted suspect, Lacatus. All three were charged with obstruction of justice and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Lactus was additionally served on her outstanding warrants. A warrant for obstruction of justice was obtained for the female who refused to open the front door for deputies, but she has not yet been served.
