An intoxicated Baltimore woman made her presence in Stafford very known due to her reckless driving behavior in a stolen vehicle.

On January 26th at approximately 9:58 a.m. Deputy M.N. Sayegh responded to a drunk driver complaint. The caller advised a Hyundai with no tags was traveling Southbound on I-95 and displaying less than ideal driving behaviors. This included driving on the shoulder, the inability to maintain any lane of travel, and almost “wiped out.” The caller further advised the Hyundai took the Warrenton Road exit.

Deputy Sayegh would locate the vehicle in the parking lot of Gulf, located at 372 Warrenton Road, and made contact with the driver. The driver, identified as Nicole Wallace, 48, advised she was on her way to South Carolina before pulling over to check for directions. If she knew Stafford’s reputation, she might have waited to check her directions. Instead, Deputy Sayegh observed several signs of intoxication and numerous bottles of liquor.

When Deputy Sayegh inquired about there being no license plates on the vehicle, Wallace advised they were stolen and a replacement was in the trunk. This “replacement” was discovered to be a piece of cardboard that had “stolen tag” written on it. During the investigation, it was discovered that the tags weren’t the only item that was stolen, but the vehicle was. After confirming with Baltimore authorities that the vehicle was in fact stolen, Wallace was transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Wallace was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, grand larceny, and refusal. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 secured bond.

Remember to not only drive sober or get pulled over, but don’t drive a stolen vehicle through Stafford County.
