An intoxicated 19-year-old Stafford man was arrested after a concerned citizen observed an assault.
On December 11th at approximately 6:31 p.m. Deputy S.C. Steinway responded to Lake Shore Drive for a disturbance. A concerned citizen advised he heard arguing and went to investigate the source of it. When he did, he observed a male assaulting a female.
When Deputy Steinway arrived, he observed a male and female matching the description provided. Deputy Steinway would also recognize both of them from a prior incident. While attempting to uncover what occurred, Deputy Steinway observed both the male and the juvenile female to have signs of intoxication. Despite this, the male denied consuming alcohol. Considering it was not Deputy Steinway’s first day on the job, he knew he had enough probable cause to arrest the male. During a search incident to arrest, the male was found to be in possession of four bottles of Fireball.
The male was charged with assault and battery, public intoxication, unlawful possession of alcohol, as well as, contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 secured bond. The juvenile was transported back home where her mother advised she would be “grounded for life.” |
