A breaking and entering, as well as an assault, occurred over the weekend due to a disagreement over a puppy.

On December 8th at approximately 11:15 a.m. deputies responded to Crab Apple Drive for an active breaking and entering. The victim advised a known male broke into the residence and assaulted her. While the victim was on the phone with dispatch, they could hear the suspect in the background. Considering he was still on scene, deputies quickly arrived in the area. Deputy J.S. Torres would locate the male suspect and detain him without incident.

It was discovered the victim and suspect were in the residence when a disagreement over a puppy’s bathroom habits broke out. The altercation escalated when the suspect assaulted the victim numerous times and caused damage to the residence. The victim was able to defend herself and the suspect voluntarily departed the residence. When the victim locked him out of the residence, the suspect changed his mind and kicked in the front door. During the altercation, the suspect made several threats towards the victim.

The suspect, Jeremiah Goggins, 22, of Fairfax Station, was charged with felony breaking and entering, assault and battery, as well as, property damage. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
