While Jack and Jill went up the hill, Jack and Jim persuaded a Stafford woman to get behind the wheel Sunday night.
On October 21st at approximately 7:19 p.m. Deputy R. Tully was traveling Southbound on Richmond Highway in the area of Coal Landing Road. While doing so, he observed a Prius with a missing tail light having a hard time maintaining the lane of travel. Deputy Tully conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver.
The driver had signs of intoxication as she attempted to correct Deputy Tully advising she had both tail lights on. She in fact did not. It was also discovered her registration expired earlier this year and her state inspection had been expired since 2022. Due to the signs of intoxication, field sobriety tests were conducted. She was detained shortly after. During an inventory search of the vehicle, Deputy Tully located Jack and Jim, as in Jack Daniel’s and Jim Beam.
The driver was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2, drinking while driving, no rear lights, failure to maintain the lane of travel, and having both expired state inspection and registration. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
