An inmate at Rappahannock Regional Jail sustained injuries after another inmate used a makeshift knife during a fight.
On October 18th at approximately 12:55 p.m. Deputy K.R. Sprinkles responded to Rappahannock Regional Jail, located at 1745 Richmond Highway, for a fight. It was advised four inmates were involved in two altercations, one of which involved a weapon.
Using camera footage and conversing with jail staff, Deputy Sprinkles was able to discover what occurred. At 11:51 a.m. inmate one began assaulting inmate two. Moments later, inmate three began assaulting inmate four. Inmate two would continue the fight while inmate four did not retaliate. During the altercation, inmate two produced a makeshift knife and began slashing inmate one. Shortly after, all parties were separated. Inmate one was treated at the jail for his minor injuries while inmate four sustained no injuries.
As a result, inmate one and inmate three were charged with assault and battery. Inmate two was charged with attempted malicious wounding and felony by prisoner. |
