A wanted 35-year-old Stafford man, known for trespassing in Garrison Woods, was located once again in the area Monday night.
On October 7th at approximately 9:44 p.m. Deputy X.D. Bates was patrolling Garrison Woods. While doing so, he observed Jalil Berryman. Deputy Bates knew Berryman rather well from multiple prior interactions. He also knew Berryman was wanted and trespassed from Garrison Woods.
As additional units responded, Berryman would attempt to flee the area and enter into the Sky Terrace area. Once again, since Deputy Bates knew this suspect’s behaviors, he was well prepared for this outcome. Deputies made contact with Berryman, who was in an intoxicated state, and detained him without incident. Within Berryman’s backpack, deputies located suspected controlled substances.
Berryman was charged with possession of controlled substances, trespassing, and public intoxication. He was also served on eight outstanding warrants. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $3,000 secured bond. |
