A 58-year-old Fredericksburg man has been arrested after bringing a gun onto a school campus and causing a disturbance in the school parking lot.
On September 30th during the afternoon dismissal at Brooke Point High School, staff was directing traffic in the parking lot. Thomas Williams disregarded the traffic signals of the school security, as he had done on a previous occasion. Staff attempted to speak with Williams, but was met with a quarrelsome attitude.
As Williams walked through the parking lot, Deputy D.J. Taylor observed Williams had a handgun on his hip. Warrants for possession of a handgun on school property, disregarding a crossing guard, oral threats and disorderly conduct were obtained and served on Williams. He was placed in the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond. Additionally, Williams has been trespassed from the school.
The safety of students and staff is of paramount importance to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. We continue to work in tandem with Stafford County Public Schools to provide a secure environment on all school campuses. |
