While Earth, Wind & Fire may remember the 21st night of September, a 23-year-old driver might have difficulty remembering after consuming the “max amount” before getting behind the wheel.
On September 21st at approximately 12:50 a.m. Deputy N.J. Amato responded to the area of Kings Highway and Naomi Road for a single vehicle auto accident. It was advised a Mazda had Zoom-Zoomed off the roadway and into a ditch. Luckily, no injuries were reported.
When Deputy Amato arrived, he made contact with the driver. While he couldn’t remember where he had just come from, he advised he was “less than a mile” from his residence. Considering his residence was discovered to be in Chesterfield, that was determined to be false. Through their conversation, Deputy Amato observed the driver to have several signs of intoxication. The driver would admit to consuming “the max amount” while playing bingo beer.
The driver was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content greater than .2 and reckless driving. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,000 secured bond. |
