A 63-year-old Stafford man will need to have his mail forwarded to Rappahannock Regional Jail after being discovered intoxicated behind the wheel at the Post Office.
On September 20th at approximately 5:13 p.m. Deputy K.W. Suter responded to a drunk driver complaint. The caller advised a green truck hauling lawn equipment was swerving and ran a red light while traveling on Richmond Highway. Deputy Suter would locate the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the Post Office, located at 2650 Richmond Highway.
Deputy Suter made contact with the driver, who thought he was in Woodbridge. The driver also thought his Costco card was his driver’s license when Deputy Suter asked for his license. The driver had signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming a margarita at a crab restaurant. While crabs and margaritas are a good combination, drinking and driving is not.
The driver was identified as John Crocker. Crocker had three prior DUI offenses and therefore was charged with felony driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. |
