A jail inmate was assaulted during a dispute over the use of the microwave in the cell block.

On July 14th Deputy J.J. Suh handled an assault complaint at the Rappahannock Regional Jail. During an argument over who was next in line for the microwave, an inmate assaulted another inmate. It was a rough weekend for ice machines as well. An ice machine was damaged at the Valero on Sunday and during this melee, the ice machine in the cell block was damaged.

After a review of jail video, warrants were obtained for assault and battery and felony vandalism for Keith Sheppard, 38, of Washington, D.C. Sheppard remains in the custody of the jail.
