A wanted Locust Grove man added to his troubles when drugs were discovered during a traffic stop Saturday evening in South Stafford.
On July 13th at 7:21 p.m. First Sergeant A.I. Assur conducted a traffic stop at the McDonalds on Ferry Road and identified the driver as Thomas Chaffin, 30. Chaffin was found to be wanted in Fredericksburg for hit and run, reckless driving, and driving revoked. Additionally Chaffin was wanted in Spotsylvania County for a show cause.
Deputies L.T. Ward and E.M. Brooks responded to assist and Chaffin was detained. Compounding Chaffin’s legal troubles, suspected controlled substances were located in the vehicle. Chaffin was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, driving revoked and served the outstanding warrants from the other jurisdictions. Chaffin was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
