Deputies and detectives are investigating a recent burglary that took place over the weekend.
On July 1st at approximately 9:38 a.m. Deputy C.M. Ramirez responded to First Auto Gallery LLC, located at 24 Derrick Lane, for a business alarm. It was advised there was an audible alarm coming from the business. As Deputy Ramirez was responding, the business owner advised he was on scene and the business had been broken into.
Deputies arrived and discovered the glass door shattered. Five key fobs, all belonging to Mercedes-Benz vehicles, were stolen, along with two Mercedes vehicles. Using business cameras, it was discovered on June 30th at approximately 11:04 p.m. two male suspects approached the business. They would use a rock to shatter the glass and make entry into the business. They would steal the key fobs from a key box. The first suspect would drive off in a Mercedes, striking a parked vehicle in the process. The second suspect would also flee in a Mercedes.
Virginia State Police was able to locate one of the vehicles driving recklessly on I-95 in Prince William which resulted in a pursuit. They were able to detain the driver and recovered that vehicle. The other vehicle has yet to be located and was entered as stolen into a law enforcement database. If you have any information regarding this burglary, please contact Detective K.L.
