While investigating a shooting, deputies located the suspect to be driving under the influence early Sunday morning.

On June 23rd at approximately 12:29 a.m. deputies responded to the Suburban Extended Stay, located at 3097 Richmond Highway, for a weapon offense. Multiple callers advised they heard gunshots. One of the callers advised he was the victim and the suspect was an ex romantic partner.

When deputies arrived on scene, they located both live and spent ammunition on the ground. They would also locate the firearm used in the offense under a vehicle. The victim advised he and Ikeyia Reed, 40, of Stafford, got into a verbal argument. This argument escalated when Reed produced a firearm, began chasing the victim, and recklessly fired rounds. She would then get into her vehicle, striking the victim with it before fleeing the scene. The victim was not shot and only received minor injuries from the vehicle.

Sergeant J.D. Hurt located the suspect vehicle on Paris Lane and informed nearby units. Deputies made contact with Reed and detained her. While conversing with Reed, deputies observed several signs of intoxication. At the magistrate’s office she would vandalize one of the benches.

Reed was charged with reckless handling of a firearm, brandishing a firearm, assault, assault and battery, driving under the influence, driving while suspended, and vandalism of jail property. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
