Two females are lucky to be alive after a roll over crash that took place on Kings Highway.

On June 18th at approximately 4:50 a.m. Deputy M.A. Holub responded to the 1300 block of Kings Highway for an auto accident. The caller advised there was a vehicle off the roadway.

Based on the evidence at the scene, it was determined the vehicle was traveling westbound when it crossed over the median, rolled and spun around until it came to a stop on the eastbound side of Kings Highway. The roof had been caved in, airbags were deployed, and debris was scattered everywhere. Amidst the debris field, Deputy Holub located an empty box of Twisted Tea. Both occupants were injured and had clear signs of intoxication. The driver attempted to lie and state “nobody” was driving. She was also discovered to have a revoked license due to a previous DUI.

Charges for driving under the influence, DUI maiming, driving with a revoked license, and reckless driving were obtained for the 20-year-old driver. She and the passenger were transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries.
