Instead of handling a “beef” like adults, three young Stafford residents decided to drive around shooting Orbeez guns, resulting in warrants being generated. Orbeez guns shoot small, colorful water-absorbing beads called Orbeez.
On May 25th at approximately 6:28 p.m. Deputy X.D. Bates responded to Witch Hazel Lane for an assault. The caller advised she observed a female getting assaulted by three people. The suspects would then leave in a black Hyundai.
Deputy Bates made contact with the victim and observed her injuries. She advised while in her vehicle, the suspect vehicle pulled up beside her and a male and female within it started firing Orbeez at her. The victim would attempt to communicate with the suspects, but instead, all three began assaulting her. While handling the matter at hand, another call came through just down the street where two others were shot by Orbeez from a passing black sedan.
The suspects were identified as an 18-year-old female and 19-year-old male and female. All three were requested to return to the scene; however, only the females returned. It was advised all three were riding around Fredericksburg and Stafford using their Orbeez guns. While doing so, they stopped by the victim’s residence due to them having “beef,” and the male and 19-year-old female shot at her. It was also confirmed the shooting down the street was done by the male suspect.
Due to their improper handling of “beef” between acquaintances, all three received warrants for assault by mob. For the drive by shooting, the male suspect was additionally charged with two counts of assault and battery. Both females were transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail and held on a $2,000 secured bond. The male suspect has not yet been served. |
