Boggling Boat Burglary

By land, air, or even sea, the Sheriff’s Office investigates all its crimes. This includes a less than Titanic collision that occurred late Sunday night.

On April 28th at approximately 11:05 p.m. Deputy K.R. Sprinkles responded to the Aquia Creek Lodge, located at 114 Shady Cove Lane, for an unknown problem. It was advised a yacht in a scene reminiscent of Step Brothers crashing their father’s yacht, had run aground.

Deputy Sprinkles set sail to confirm the fishy claim and discovered it to be true. This love boat had crashed into the shore, yet the ship’s captain was nowhere to be found. A witness came forward to advise it was not Redbeard, but a white male in his fifties who seemed intoxicated. The suspect had since wandered off.

Contact was made with both the Coast Guard, and the boat’s owner. The owner advised he had no knowledge of his boat’s condition, leading deputies to believe it was stolen before the crash. The Coast Guard and the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries began working on the removal process as deputies continued the investigation. If anyone has information regarding the boat pirate, please contact the Sheriff’s Office.
