A Montross woman wanted due to her less than ideal driving behavior was located and arrested due to her less than ideal driving behavior.
On April 25th at approximately 7:40 p.m. Deputy N.J. Amato responded to Deacon Road for a reckless driver. The caller advised he was being tailgated by a vehicle that was swerving. Eventually, the suspect vehicle pulled into the parking lot of the 7-Eleven, located at 327 Deacon Road. Deputy Amato located the suspect vehicle and made contact with the driver.
While conversing with the driver, Deputy Amato observed a smoking pipe in plain view. The driver would also provide a false identification. While the driver advised she was not driving recklessly and the reporting party must be “lying,” it was discovered she has a past when it comes to driving recklessly. After uncovering her true identity, it was revealed she had a suspended license and was wanted out of Stafford County for felony hit and run. She was detained at that time.
During a search of her vehicle, suspected controlled substances were located. Suspected controlled substances were also located during a search of her person. The driver was identified as Ladonna Smith, 37. She was charged with two counts of possession of controlled substances, providing a false identification to police, and driving with a suspended license. She was also served on her outstanding charge and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. |
