Online shopping can be a joy, unless what you order never arrives. Multiple Stafford residents had their packages stolen right after delivery.
On March 22nd at approximately 1:42 p.m. Deputy F.A. Martinez responded to Shermans Ridge Road for a larceny. The caller advised she was a victim of porch piracy, and the incident was captured on her doorbell camera. Using doorbell footage, Deputy Martinez was able to confirm the package, containing nearly $2,000 worth of items, was dropped off by a FedEx driver at 10:26 a.m. At 11:24 a.m. an unknown male wearing an Amazon vest can be seen getting out of a black Chevrolet Malibu and approaching the victim’s residence. He took the victim’s package and replaced it with another package of equal size. While at first it might seem like a package accidentally being delivered to the wrong address, that would turn out to not be true, considering the package the suspect left behind was empty. This would not be the first, or last incident.
On March 23rd at approximately 12:24 p.m. Deputy Martinez once again responded to a larceny, this time on Denali Drive. This victim would have the same set of circumstances happen to him. A package, containing over $1,200 worth of items, was dropped off only to be stolen and replaced by an empty box by a male wearing an Amazon vest getting out of a black Chevrolet Malibu.
