Much like an Oprah Winfrey giveaway, everyone gets warrants. Three musketeers received no bond after a late-night arrest.
On March 16th at approximately 10:16 p.m. First Sergeant D.W. Fetterolf and Deputy K.F. Bierfeldt responded to the 900 block of Truslow Road to assist our Special Problems Unit in a warrant service. Members of the Special Problems Unit advised they observed Earnest Scruggs, 41, of Stafford, and Justin House, 35, of Stafford, within a residence with another male. Scruggs was wanted out of Fredericksburg while House was wanted out of Powhatan and Spotsylvania County.
As deputies knocked on the door, they observed House retreat deeper into the home. When Scruggs answered the door, he was greeted with handcuffs. The other male, later identified as Jeffery Roles, 32, of Stafford, was also detained. Scruggs claimed House was not there despite deputies observing him with their own eyes.
Luckily, the home owner arrived on scene moments later and consented to a search of the home. House was located within the house pretending to be asleep. His fake nap was paused when he too was detained. Deputies also located suspected controlled substances in plain view where they had observed the males sitting earlier.
All three were charged with possession of controlled substances. Scruggs and House were both served on their outstanding warrants. Due to his lack of cooperation during the investigation, Scruggs was also charged with obstruction of justice. All three were held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
Great work to deputies and the Special Problems Unit for seizing more narcotics and serving warrants. |
