An elderly Maryland motorist was assisted back home on Friday thanks to the teamwork of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office and the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

On February 16th at 2:37 p.m. Deputy J.E. Cordes responded to Leeland Road for an elderly motorist who was lost. The man had driven from Maryland, but could not recall his address or other information.

Deputy Cordes checked the vehicle registration and made telephone contact with the driver’s spouse. She was unable to respond to pick up her husband.

Deputy Cordes secured the man’s vehicle and provided an escort through King George County to the Charles County Maryland line. Once there , he was met by a Charles County Maryland deputy to finish the escort to the man’s residence.
