Two Stafford County juveniles were placed in detention last week after detectives obtained evidence linking them to a robbery on Garrisonville Road last year.
On November 17th of 2023 deputies responded to the Red Apple Tobacco at 432 Garrisonville Road for a robbery. The investigation revealed two black males entered the business wearing masks and carrying backpacks. One of the suspects displayed a firearm, holding the clerk at gunpoint, and demanded cash from the register. Both suspects fled on foot with cash and assorted vapes.
A perimeter was established around the area, drone searched from the sky and K-9 tracked on the ground, but the suspects were not located. Detectives responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
First Sergeant C.L. Smith and Detective K.A. Lawrence were able to develop two juvenile suspects and obtained numerous search warrants to further the investigation.
On February 2nd detectives executed search warrants in North Stafford at the homes of both juvenile suspects. Incriminating evidence was seized during the search warrants. Detention Orders were issued for both juveniles for robbery and conspiracy and one of the juveniles had the added charge of use of a firearm during a felony. Both juveniles were held at the Juvenile Detention Center.
As a result of the investigation, Fredericksburg Police Department was able to link the same two juveniles to a robbery of Tobacco Hut and Vape in their jurisdiction on January 29th of this year.
Great work by the deputies and detectives to identify these juveniles and detain them. |
