A deputy was able to make Stafford County a bit cleaner in more ways than one Saturday afternoon after responding to a littering call.

On January 6th at approximately 4:15 p.m. Deputy S.A. Hensley was at the Super 8 Motel, located at 557 Warrenton Road, for a littering call. Someone had dumped trash at the business and left. While dealing with that trashy incident, Deputy Hensley observed a vehicle enter the parking lot with a registration that expired back in 2022. Deputy Hensley made contact with the driver, identified as Jared Beacham, 37, of Goochland. Beacham advised he was “pretty sure” there were warrants out for his arrest.

He was correct. Beacham had failure to appear warrants from Hanover County, Stafford County, and the city of Richmond. The preexisting charge for the Hanover County warrant was for breaking into vehicles and stealing items. Beacham was placed under arrest at that time. During a search inventory of his vehicle, Deputy Hensley located suspected controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and tools often used to break into vehicles.

Beacham was charged with possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute, felony possession of burglary tools, and having an expired registration. He was also served on his outstanding warrants and was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Afterwards, Deputy Hensley finished handling the littering complaint and the trash was properly disposed of in a nearby dumpster.

Great work to Deputy Hensley for not only cleaning up our streets literally, but cleaning it from additional controlled substances.
