A wanted man and a Manassas woman received felony charges after a concerned citizen saw something and said something.
On January 5th at approximately 11:29 p.m. Sergeant M.E. Gordon and Deputy C.C. Lee responded to Southern View Drive for a disturbance. The caller advised they observed a male chasing another. When deputies arrived, the person being chased was nowhere to be found, but the male doing the chasing was there with a female.
The male, Ariss Mason, 33, with no fixed address, was discovered to be wanted out of Prince William County. The female, Katlynn Barbour, 18, had several signs of being under the influence. Both were detained and searched. Both were found with blue pills, commonly containing fentanyl.
Both were taken to Rappahannock Regional Jail. While there, jail staff discovered Barbour had additional suspected controlled substances within her. They were removed, and additional charges were added.
Mason was charged with second offense possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute, and possession of controlled substances. He was also served on his outstanding warrant. Barbour was charged with two counts of possession of controlled substances, possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute, felony by prisoner, and obstruction of justice. Both were held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. |
