Two wanted individuals were found with drugs during a traffic stop late Saturday night.
On November 4th at approximately 11:02 p.m. Sergeant B.U. Demirci was traveling Northbound on I-95. During his late-night drive, he observed a vehicle weaving, failing to maintain the lane of travel, and conducting multiple lane changes without signaling. After witnessing the multiple traffic violations, Sergeant Demirci conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near mile marker 143 as additional units responded.
The driver, Leonard Braxton, 42, of Richmond, was discovered to be wanted out of Prince William, Lancaster, and Fairfax County. The passenger, Monica Reed, 45, of Stafford, was discovered to be wanted out of Stafford County. The wanted duo was subsequently detained. A search of the vehicle resulted in numerous suspected controlled substances being located. Reed advised that while they were not hers, she too had controlled substances on her person.
Reed was served on her outstanding warrant, and was additionally charged with possession of controlled substances. Braxton, was served on his numerous warrants, and was charged with felony possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute, possession of controlled substances, and driving while revoked. Both were held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. |
