A 38-year-old Stafford man found operating a stolen vehicle found himself in Rappahannock Regional Jail after a North Stafford traffic stop.

With the recent rise in retail larcenies nationwide, and in Stafford Market Place, deputies have increased their presence in the area. While doing so on September 28th at approximately 12:33 p.m., Deputy S.C. Martin observed a stolen vehicle near Ulta, located at 1150 Stafford Market Place. The vehicle in question matched the description of a vehicle involved in a larceny the day prior. With this knowledge, additional deputies and detectives responded to conduct surveillance on the vehicle.

Deputies strategized the best tactic in order to prevent a possible pursuit. As soon as the vehicle began to move, Captain B.G. Worcester gave the go ahead for units to move in. Moments later, the vehicle was boxed in and the driver was detained in a textbook high-risk traffic stop.

The driver, Emmanuel Kori Baffour, was charged with grand larceny and held on a $5,000 secured bond.

Amazing work by our deputies and detectives for their hard work and investigation.
