A Norfolk man’s spin cycle ended early after he destroyed two washers at a hotel on Warrenton Road.
On June 30th at approximately 7:50 p.m. Deputy D.L. Brookman responded to the Comfort Inn, located at 541 Warrenton Road, for a report of a vandalism. Staff advised a guest broke their washing machines. Deputy Brookman reviewed camera footage of the washing assault in which the suspect pushes on the washing machine door until it broke off the hinges. Another washing machine was also damaged.
Deputy Brookman made contact with the suspect in the parking lot. After explaining to the suspect the business has cameras, the suspect apologized for the incident. The total damages done was estimated to be a lot. A load worth. Considering the damages were approximately $1,200, that would make this incident a felony. He was subsequently arrested for felony destruction of property. He was released from the magistrate on personal recognizance.
The suspect however, proved how sorry he in fact was. After being released from the magistrate, the suspect returned to the business and paid for the damages he caused.
