A 21-year-old intoxicated Stafford man assaulted multiple deputies outside Panda Express after being discovered tampering with vehicles.
One June 2nd at approximately 8:27 p.m., deputies responded to a suspicious person at Panda Express, located at 320 Garrisonville Road. The caller advised there was a male suspect tampering with multiple vehicles in the parking lot, including his own. When deputies arrived on scene, they easily found the suspect due to his bright tie-dye shorts.
The suspect had slurred speech and the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. Deputies attempted to converse with the suspect, but he was less than willing to participate. Deputies attempted to place him under arrest for a simple public intoxication charge when he began to resist. His non-compliant behavior continued as he screamed profanities towards deputies.
As they attempted to place him into their vehicle, the suspect headbutted, kicked, and even attempted to bite deputies. After a brief struggle, the suspect was transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail. Multiple witnesses confirmed seeing the suspect pull on vehicle door handles.
The suspect was charged with three counts of assault and battery on law enforcement, obstruction of justice, public intoxication, and two counts of vehicle tampering. He was held without bond. None of the deputies involved sustained serious injuries. |
