Anyone shopping yesterday afternoon in Stafford Market Place saw the conclusion of a clothing crime spree unfold. The clothing thief is no longer at large, as it seems she stole a variety of sizes.
On March 25th at 4:56 p.m. First Sergeant D.F. Purcell, Jr. responded to the Kohl’s in Stafford Market Place for a shoplifting case. Loss prevention reported a female suspect involved in four prior thefts this month at the store had returned to the scene of the crime and was stealing again.
First Sgt. Purcell watched the suspect exit the Kohl’s and stopped her in the nearby Ross with her ill gotten goods. The suspect attempted to use a family member’s name and social security number, but failed. After several attempts with inaccurate information, the suspect was identified as Kalonda McLean, 40, of Stafford.
McLean was wanted in Fredericksburg for shoplifting, false identification, uttering and identity theft resulting in the arrest of another. She was wanted in Prince William for forgery and larceny. Finally, McLean was wanted in Charles County Maryland for DUI.
First Sgt. Purcell obtained warrants for petit larceny, identity theft, false identification and a fugitive from justice warrant for the Maryland charge. She was served on the outstanding warrants from Fredericksburg and Prince William. McLean was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail. |
