A Stafford man started yesterday morning off early with alcohol and new charges.
On October 18th, at approximately 8:22 Deputy C.R. Szentkuti received a call of an unknown medical emergency. Deputy Szentkuti responded to the Wawa located at 275 Butler Road, where he located Joseph Watson, 50, in the driver’s seat of a running Mitsubishi SUV.
Watson had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and slurred speech. Deputy Szentkuti observed an open container of alcohol sitting next to Watson as well. While Watson denied being the driver, deputies reviewed surveillance footage to determine what transpired.
Surveillance footage showed Watson driving into the lot and parking. This gave Deputy Szentkuti enough to charge Watson. On top of that, Watson had his driver’s license currently revoked. Watson was charged with driving under the influence, drinking and driving, as well as, driving while revoked. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. |
