Was it a rush to see if the McRib was in stock? No, this morning an intoxicated driver came into a fast food drive-thru hotter than a fresh batch of McDonald’s French Fries and crashed.

On January 24th at 12:25 a.m. Sergeant E.E. West responded to the McDonald’s on Wonder Road for a McFlurry of activity. She arrived to find that the ice cream machine may be working, but the drive thru was shut down for a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed a 38-year-old male from North Carolina had entered the drive -thru at a high rate of speed and struck a sign before ending up catawampus in the lane of travel.

The driver, identified as Juan Gomez Alvarez, had red, glassy eyes and a strong odor of alcoholic beverages. Sergeant West learned the driver had been convicted of DUI in New York the previous day, making this his second offense. There was no Mac Tonight as Gomez Alvarez was charged with DUI second offense in five years, refusal and destruction of property. He probably Grimaced as he was placed in the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. It doesn’t appear he said McCheese for his booking photo.
