A pursuit through Stafford County was shut down like TikTok last night and the juvenile driver was detained. On January 18th at 9:24 p.m. First Sergeant M.R. Flick was traveling northbound on I-95 near the American Legion overpass when a grey Lexus passed him at over 90 mph. The First Sergeant activated his emergency equipment and the Lexus driver’s speed increased like the price of eggs, accelerating to over 120 mph. The pursuit continued northbound for approximately a mile and a half. As the suspect reached heavier traffic, he brought the car to a stop like a Detroit Lion playoff run. The driver was identified as a 17-year-old male and had the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Deputy P.J. Leon responded to assist and the driver was taken into custody. He was charged with felony eluding, DUI, driving after illegally consuming alcohol, and a juvenile license violation. The juvenile was held at the Juvenile Detention Center. Two passengers in the vehicle were released to a sober and responsible adult. Excellent work by First Sergeant Flick and Deputy Leon to get this dangerous driver off Stafford County roads. Drive sober or get pulled over. |
