An Alexandria man was unmasked as the suspect of a breaking and entering at a North Stafford McDonald’s.

On New Year’s Day, at approximately 3:11 a.m. Deputy W.E. Trainor responded to the golden arches, located at 303 Town Center Boulevard, for a breaking and entering. Staff advised a male broke through the front door of the business in order to steal a meal that would surely make him happy.

Deputy Trainor made contact with staff and unearthed what transpired. It was discovered the suspect attempted to order food on foot in the drive through line. While the intoxicated suspect was denied services, it appears the McRib is too good to pass up. The suspect would walk to one of the locked doors of the business and break it open to gain access. Whence inside the fine establishment of Ronald McDonald, he would grab a bag of food and made like the Hamburglar with the unpaid food. Luckily, no staff or Grimace were injured during the ordeal.

Deputy Trainor would locate a male matching the description of the suspect nearby and made contact with him. The suspect, identified as Maurice Smalls, 39, appeared to have had more than just fries due to his obvious signs of intoxication. Smalls would admit to stealing the food and was detained. Smalls was charged with breaking and entering, larceny, public intoxication, and destruction of property. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail pending his ability to participate in a bond hearing.
