A Stafford man, wanted for a disturbance earlier in the week, learned if Stafford County wants you, Stafford County gets you. On December 11th at approximately 5:45 a.m. deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence in the area of Forbes Street and Morton Road. The suspect involved in the disturbance was identified as Aubrey Collier III, 43. Collier had fled the area prior to deputies’ arrival. Despite that, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is not known for giving up so easily. Since the disturbance, detectives with our Criminal Investigation Division have been working on numerous avenues in an attempt to locate him. These attempts would be fruitful, for detectives were able to discover Collier had returned to the scene of the crime. On December 12th at approximately 4:12 p.m. the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office’s SWAT Team rolled up to the residence in question. Shortly after making contact with Collier, he surrendered peacefully. He was served on his outstanding warrants which included destruction of property, brandishing a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Amazing work to our deputies for never giving up the search, and quickly taking the suspect into custody. |
