On December 10th at approximately 7:38 a.m. deputies responded to the Patriot’s Landing subdivision for a Project Lifesaver report. It was advised the client, diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, wandered out of his residence and could not be found. With a detailed description of the missing person, as well as knowledge on his wandering behaviors, deputies quickly arrived in the area to search for him. In under ten minutes, Deputy S.M. Eastman was able to locate the male on Brafferton Boulevard. After confirming he was safe and uninjured, the male was given a ride back home to be reunited with his family. As the temperatures continue to lower as we enter the winter season, quickly locating missing people is imperative. Project Lifesaver is a crucial program designed to do just that. Not only with its’ 100% successful equipment, but with the personal connection established between deputies and the individual. If you have a family member with a cognitive disorder and is prone to wandering off, visit our website at https://www.staffordsheriff.com/content/crime/Projectlifesaver.cfm for more information on Project Lifesaver. |
