While there aren’t 99 bottles of beer on the wall, 24 bottles in the back seat is just as bad. A 33-year-old Woodbridge driver discovered this after causing a crash on Warrenton Road.

On December 8th at approximately 7:45 a.m. Deputy A.E. Epps and Deputy N.D. Fonseca responded to the area of Warrenton Road and the exit ramp for Northbound I-95 for an auto accident. A Volvo and Toyota had an abrupt meeting at the intersection. Luckily, there were no injuries.

It was discovered the Volvo was exiting from I-95 and had the green light. While passing through the intersection, the Toyota driver who was “rushing to work” continued through the intersection. The Volvo driver attempted to avoid a crash by slamming on the brakes; however, it was too late.

The Toyota driver had signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming “seven beers” before getting behind the wheel. While he only admitted to seven, hidden under a jacket in his backseat were 24 beer bottles. All of which were open except for two. On top of the beer bottle graveyard it was discovered the driver did not have a valid license.

The driver was charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
